Last weekend, I attended APSA’s Teaching and Learning Conference (Long Beach). If you teach political science, this is a conference that you should attend when possible. The experience was worthwhile because two days of sharing experiences (i.e. conference papers) with the same small group of people left me with (1) a better understanding of possible teaching improvements / ideas / activities I might use in future teaching, (2) a deeper understanding of the current needs in future research and action, (3) how I could attempt another research design given the research I presented (available here), (4) efficacious socialization and networking, and (5) the will to purchase Teaching Civic Engagement: From Student to Active Citizen.
I will certainly attend another “Teaching and Learning” conference in the future!
